The building was originally painted red and yellow. Taco John's moved from this location to the now-almost-dead Capital Hill Mall around 1998; they have since vacated that location. There are currently two standalone Taco John's in Helena.

After Taco John's, the Lyndale Avenue building housed several other businesses, one being the Green Iguana restaurant, which lasted about one year. The building was sold and moved to Whitehall, Montana.
